BEAM Circular Expands Resources for Businesses & Entrepreneurs
BEAM Circular is pleased to share the launch of multiple programs for businesses and entrepreneurs who are creating jobs and advancing environmental sustainability in the North San Joaquin Valley. These catalytic new programs, all launched in Fall 2024, are supported by an Economic Development Pilot Grant through the California Jobs First program.

The BEAM Circular Accelerator, in partnership with gener8tor, will support five innovative and high-growth startups spearheading advancements in the circular bioeconomy. This program delivers capital, coaching, and connections to help startups grow into high-value companies with scalable infrastructure. Open to any startup focused on enhancing sustainability through bioeconomy solutions, the program actively engages with diverse founders who wish to explore pathways to scale in the North San Joaquin Valley.

The Research and Commercialization Grant Assistance Program (RC-GAP) offers up to $5,000 to bioeconomy businesses applying to research and commercialization grants, including Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR), and similar grants. These funds can be used for services such as expert grant writing, comprehensive proposal review, technical assistance, and business planning, all aimed at streamlining the application process and boosting their chances of success.

BEAM Circular’s Research and Commercialization Grant Matching Fund (RC-Match) offers a 50% match of up to $75,000 to bioeconomy businesses that have already secured SBIR/STTR Phase I, Phase II, or Fast-Track awards. By supporting activities such as technology validation, scaling operations, and commercialization planning, RC-Match will accelerate innovation and help companies secure the next phase of funding and bring their sustainable products to market.

BEAM Circular’s Innovation Voucher Program (IVP) aims to increase access to research expertise, equipment, and infrastructure for businesses in the North San Joaquin Valley (NSJV) that are working on promising innovations in bio-based products, biomanufacturing, and waste biomass feedstock utilization. The IVP matches provides match funding of up to $100,000 to engage a researcher or research facilities to support exploration of a defined research question or innovation project necessary to moving your sustainable circular bioeconomy technology forward.

TAP aims to strengthen the regional bioeconomy by providing targeted support to enable local businesses, farmers, and food processors to participate in the bioindustry supply chain as suppliers, users, or producers of bio-based materials. The program offers subsidized access to specialized consultants and service providers, enabling businesses to assess and adopt new practices, technologies, and operational processes that help them benefit from and contribute to the growing circular bioeconomy.
